Coon Rapids Athletic Association Lacross The Creator's Game Lacrosse is an intense, physical, and nonstop game. Athletes of every size and shape can be very successful based entirely on effort and a desire to improve. The association will teach you what you need to know and with the dedication and commitment, we will be looking for 3 things from each player – A positive attitude, the ability to put team before self, and an understanding that anything worth having takes work. Teams We play under the guidelines of the Youth Lacrosse of Minnesota (YLM) Based on numbers, it is our intent to have a: 3rd and 4th Grade team 5th and 6th Grade team 7th and 8th Grade team You will play at the level of which grade you are in or just completing. Who Can Play Anyone finishing the 3rd grade thru 8th grade. At this time we do not have a girls program. We are encouraging any girl that would like to play to come and join one of the teams above. US Lacrosse Membership Participants are required to be members of US Lacrosse (USL). Members will receive comprehensive insurance coverage, Lacrosse magazines, plus other benefits. To become a member and to learn more, register online at www.uslacrosse.org. The youth membership fee is $25 and is paid directly to USL in addition to the participation fee of TBD. A copy of the players US Lacrosse card or a copy of the renewal confirmation email is required at the time of registration. Time Commitment The season will start around the first of May. Your team will practice Mon thru Thurs evenings. Game schedule will be determined by the YLM. The season will end around the end of July with the State tournament played around the first weekend in Aug. Equipment The following equipment is required to play lacrosse- Lacrosse specific helment (No Hockey Helmets), Lacrosse gloves, Arm guards/arm pads/elbow pads, Sholuder Pads, Lacrosse stick, cleats, Atheletic supporter and cup Each player will be given a practice jersey to use along with game uniforms that will be turned in at the end of the season. Game shorts will be provided by the association and kept at the end of the season. See the vendors below to get your equipment.
